We are seeking an experienced Senior Citrix VDI Engineer (L3) to lead the design, implementation, and growth of our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other MENA countries. This role is key to ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable VDI services for our business. You will be the technical expert for Citrix, guiding local deployments, driving performance improvements, and engaging with vendors to resolve complex issues.



Key Responsibilities

  • VDI Ownership: Lead regional Citrix projects, migrations, and platform enhancements, aligning with global VDI strategy.
  • Operations & Escalation: Act as L3 escalation point for complex incidents, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.
  • Vendor Management: Open, drive, and manage vendor support cases (Citrix, Nutanix, cloud providers), ensuring clear communication and pushing for timely resolution.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Represent VDI function in cross-team discussions, translating technical details into clear outcomes.
  • Infrastructure Alignment: Work closely with networking, security, and identity teams to integrate Citrix with enterprise services (FortiGate, GCP, Azure, Active Directory, etc.).
  • Performance & Monitoring: Own monitoring and capacity planning (Citrix Director, Zabbix, Nutanix Prism if applicable). Participate in on-call rotations, taking ownership of the VDI service and providing critical support during major incidents when required.
  • Documentation & Mentoring: Maintain knowledge base, runbooks, and provide guidance to L2 engineers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement enhancements to VDI user experience, security posture, and operational efficiency.




Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Citrix Expertise: 5+ years with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Citrix DaaS, ADC/Netscaler, MCS/PVS, WEM, Profile Management.
  • VDI Lifecycle: Skilled in golden image management, app layering, policies, and logon optimization.
  • Virtualization: Hands-on with XenServer; Nutanix AHV knowledge is a plus.
  • Networking Awareness: Understanding of VLANs, routing, OSI, how computer networks work.
  • OS & Infra: Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory; Linux VDA familiarity is an advantage.
  • Automation: Scripting knowledge (PowerShell | Python | bash ) for administration and automation tasks. Tendency to natural desire to automate routine operations. Experience with Cloud functions is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting & Monitoring: Experience with Citrix Director, Zabbix, and advanced session/profile debugging.
  • Vendor Interaction: Proven ability to handle vendor support cases, negotiate priorities, and secure timely resolutions.
  • Communication: Fluent English, both written and spoken; able to work with international teams and external vendors.
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with Nutanix AHV and Prism for VDI workloads.
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks (SAMA, PCI-DSS).
  • Experience with ITSM tools (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow).
