Job Description

A Speech Language Therapist is a vital member of the healthcare team specializing in assisting individuals who experience difficulties with communication and swallowing. This role involves working with patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, helping them overcome challenges related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, and more. You will conduct assessments, diagnose disorders, and create individualized treatment plans to address the specific needs of each patient. Responsibilities

  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques and tools to improve patient communication abilities.
  • Conduct therapy sessions in diverse settings, including clinics, hospitals, and schools.
  • Engage in research to stay updated with new developments in speech-language therapy.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on care strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical practices in all patient interactions.
  • Offer support and counseling to patients and families dealing with communication challenges.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current license to practice as a Speech Language Therapist in the relevant state.
  • Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and family interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
  • Solid documentation skills for patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Compassionate nature with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
