Job Description

The role of a Duty Manager is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of an establishment, often in a hospitality or retail setting. As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction is always at its highest level. You will act as the point of contact between employees and management, ensuring that company policies are adhered to and operational goals are achieved. Your leadership skills and ability to make quick decisions will be crucial in maintaining the productivity and morale of the team. A successful Duty Manager will possess strong communication skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. You will be expected to work flexible hours, which may include weekends and holidays, to accommodate business needs.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the establishment.
  • Manage and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assign duties and schedules to staff, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Handle financial transactions, including cash handling and end of day reconciliation.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of premises.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure effective communication and operations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on operational performance and customer feedback.
  • Train and mentor new staff, supporting their integration into the team effectively.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service and increase client satisfaction.
  • Act as the main point of contact for emergency situations, ensuring swift action and resolution.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a relevant industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, management, and customers.
  • Solid understanding of operational procedures and best practices in the field.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficient in using standard office software and familiarity with management systems.
  • Flexible availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
