Delivery Lead - SQL Server DBA

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server database environment. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions.

Desired Skills And Experience

 Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field

 6–8 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.

 Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.

 Proficiency in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.

 Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.

 Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions.

 Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

 Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification will be a plus.

 Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).

 Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

 Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

 Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

 Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and provide clear updates.

 Must possess good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

 Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments.

 Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal performance.

 Manage database security, roles, and permissions to ensure data integrity and compliance.

 Perform regular backups and recovery operations and implement disaster recovery strategies.

 Design and implement high availability solutions including clustering, replication, and Always on Availability Groups.

 Automate routine database tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts.

 Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues.

 Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
