Josh Talks believes that every person irrespective of the background they come from has the potential in them to do well in life. Josh Talks, while serving as an elder brother figure, is working to help young India unlock their true potential.

Being an elder brother figure, firstly, Josh Talks inspires the youth by providing them access to relatable role-models through stories. This is done in the form of talks that are released over the various Youtube channels of Josh Talks. These stories feature individuals who come from backgrounds similar to the majority of us in India, who have faced similar life struggles yet, against all odds, managed to achieve great success in life. As of January 2024, 5 cr Indians watch a Josh Talk every month. Across all Youtube channels, The Josh Talks Family has over 25mn subscribers. The largest individual channel is Josh Talks Hindi that has over 10mn subscribers. 

Another duty that Josh, as an elder brother, undertakes is teaching English to young Indians. Spoken English has become critical to anyone doing well in the workplace. Josh teaches English through its Josh Talks English Speaking app, available on the android play store. Our Indian brothers and sisters can learn to speak in English from 6 other languages including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Punjabi. Josh Talks priced the course at a meager Rs. 499 so that every Indian from any part of the country can afford to speak fluently and confident in English, what Josh considers a basic human right. Over 4L students have completed the Josh Talks Spoken English course.

This however, is just the beginning. Over the coming decades Josh Talks intends to continue building more products that will help advance its objective of helping each Indian unlock their potential.

Position Summary

Were looking for a Content Curator Intern for our Josh Talks team to drive the Content Curation and Strategy of YouTube channels. As Content Curator Intern, youll craft data-driven content strategies, curate high-impact talks, and guide speakers to captivate audiences across platforms. You are expected to create engaging narratives, do audience-centric analysis, and collaborate across teams. You will work with people across content, marketing, and production teams to shape the future of Josh Talks as a Content Curator. 

Key Responsibilites

As a Content Curator, youll wear multiple hats, including:

• Curate strategic content for YouTube channels, leveraging storytelling to resonate with the target audience.
• Research, source, and onboard speakers for high-impact talks, aligning their stories with Indian audience aspirations.
• Write engaging scripts for YouTube Josh Talks, considering audience interests and YouTube algorithm optimization.
• Direct and guide speakers to deliver impactful story-telling style presentations that resonate with intended audiences.
• Collaborate with production and post-production teams to ensure video quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Provide ongoing training to speakers in voice modulation, body language, and on-camera performance.
• Analyze user engagement metrics and suggest changes accordingly in content style.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive content strategy and a content calendar for the Josh Talks across YouTube and other platforms to increase key metrics such as viewership & engagement. (subscribers, likes, comments, AVD, APV, etc)
• Support the YouTube growth team in planning and developing content style and layout.
• Stay updated on digital trends and infotainment culture, identifying online personalities and emerging cultural conversations in the YouTube world.
• Conduct research on Josh Talks and inspirational content to gain a deeper understanding of the brand and its mission.

Competencies and Skills Required

Content Strategy & Production:

• Strong research skills, for unearthing stories through online and offline mediums.
• Ability to develop the strategy wrt the projection of content trends and audience consumption.
• Proven ability to craft compelling narratives and translate them into engaging digital content (e.g., scripts, videos, thumbnails, marketing materials).
• Experience in curating and analyzing diverse content formats (long-form & short-form) for maximum impact.
• Experience in scriptwriting, ensuring all key elements are captured for maximum audience relatability.
• Deep understanding of Josh Talks target audience: Demonstrates strong empathy for the aspirations, challenges, and preferred content formats of Josh Talks viewers, ensuring all content aligns seamlessly and resonates with viewers.

Creative & Analytical Mindset:

• Highly creative with a knack to understand audience insights and performance to drive data oriented story telling.
• Structured thinker with the ability to dissect complex problems into easy-to-understand language and an understanding of audience retention.

Communication & Networking:

• Exceptional communication skills in English as well as Hindi, both written and verbal. Ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences (film directors, artists, civil servants, sensitive topics).
• Strong public speaking and storytelling skills, capable of captivating audiences.

Additional Preferences:

. Paid Internship with a competitive stipend.

• Fluency in Hindi and English
• Familiarity with Tier 2 & Tier 3 city and rural psychology.
• Experience in media, radio jockeying, creative writing, copywriting, theater, or performing arts (a plus).
• "Getting shit done" attitude and willingness to travel for work.
• Seeking a highly intuitive, problem solver, self motivated and highly curious individual.
