Job Description

A Supply Chain Planner plays a crucial role in managing a company's supply chain operations to ensure efficiency and the meeting of delivery requirements. This position focuses on forecasting, planning, and coordinating to achieve optimal inventory levels and reduced operational costs. Supply Chain Planners work closely with other departments including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure that production schedules align with supply chain objectives. They are responsible for analyzing data related to supply and demand, and their insights drive key decisions about inventory management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent analytical skills, and has a strong understanding of supply chain processes and systems.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive supply chain planning strategies and objectives.
  • Analyze data to determine trends affecting supply chain efficiency and performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without excessive surplus.
  • Identify and address any issues impacting the delivery schedules or budget.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain profitability.
  • Maintain accurate records of all supply chain activities and transactions.
  • Utilize supply chain software to predict future market trends and demands.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for senior management regarding supply chain status.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all operations.
  • Design contingency plans to mitigate issues arising in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields.
  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Planner or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in supply chain software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with various teams.
  • Experience in forecasting and planning with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
