Job Description

The Senior Merchandising Officer - Electronics is a pivotal role responsible for orchestrating the merchandising strategy for our Electronics category. This position demands a dynamic and innovative professional who can lead and develop merchandising plans that optimize product visibility, drive sales, and enhance our brand's position in the market. You will work closely with vendors, sales teams, and marketing departments to curate an exciting and competitive range of electronic products that delight our customers. Your advanced analytical skills and strong industry acumen will guide inventory decisions and promotional strategies, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer preferences.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies to maximize revenue from the electronics category.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure favorable terms.
  • Analyze market trends and sales data to identify opportunities for product expansion.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate product launches and promotional events.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability at all times.
  • Monitor competitor activities and adjust merchandising tactics to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Ensure that the product assortment aligns with the brand’s overall strategy and vision.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior merchandising staff to enhance their skills.
  • Manage merchandising budgets to ensure alignment with financial objectives and goals.
  • Regularly report on sales performance and merchandising initiatives to senior management.
  • Identify and develop new vendor relationships to expand product offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant regulations in merchandising activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of merchandising experience, preferably in electronics.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of merchandising programs.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience dealing with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights for business growth.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in merchandising software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Adaptable to changing market dynamics and able to pivot strategies as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a small team.
