Job Description – Forex Risk Analyst

Job Overview

The Forex Risk Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and mitigating trading and operational risks associated with the company’s forex activities. The role ensures that client exposures, market risks, and system risks are effectively managed while safeguarding the company’s financial stability. The analyst will leverage platforms such as MT5 and Risk Management Systems (RMS) to monitor live trades, enforce risk limits, and detect abusive or toxic trading activities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Risk Monitoring

·        Monitor live trades on MT5 and track client exposures across accounts.

·        Oversee margin utilization, leverage, and stop-out levels.

·        Detect high-frequency scalping, latency arbitrage, and mirror account abuse.

Risk Management & Control

·        Configure and enforce risk limits in RMS.

·        Perform daily trade reconciliation and resolve mismatches.

·        Monitor total book risk and ensure exposures are within approved limits.

·        Support liquidity management and hedging activities.

Risk Analysis & Reporting

·        Calculate exposure, drawdown, and Value at Risk (VaR) on a daily basis.

·        Prepare regular risk reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for management.

·        Assess client risk profiles (retail vs institutional) and recommend mitigating actions.

Compliance & Governance

·        Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.

·        Escalate breaches of risk limits or abusive trading behavior.

·        Support audits and internal reviews of risk management processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

·        Strong knowledge of forex trading markets, financial instruments, and risk concepts.

·        Proficiency in MT5, RMS platforms, and exposure/margin monitoring tools.

·        Solid understanding of margin, leverage, drawdown, VaR, and risk metrics.

·        Analytical skills to detect trading anomalies and market risk trends.

·        Advanced Excel and reporting skills for risk analysis.

·        Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

·        Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
