Job Description

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MCE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level commencing in Fall Semester 2026. The successful candidate for the regular position will be expected to establish a high-level, active research program supported by internal and external funding sources. The visiting faculty positions are primarily focused on teaching. The visiting position is a one-year renewable contract.

The applicant is required to have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research are expected from the candidates. In addition, experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable.

olThe Department of Mechanical Engineering has approximately 240 undergraduates, 26 graduate students, 12 full-time faculty and 4 lab instructors.
