Job Description

As a Purchase Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the procurement processes of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all purchasing operations are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner. Your role will involve working closely with various departments to identify purchasing needs, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the quality of purchased goods. You will also be expected to develop strategic purchasing strategies that align with the company's objectives and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the organization. Your keen sense of logistics, negotiation skills, and ability to manage supplier relationships will be essential in maintaining the desired stock levels and minimizing costs where possible.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous deals.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful purchasing decisions.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure a steady supply of necessary goods and services.
  • Supervise and motivate purchasing team to meet departmental objectives efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing activities.
  • Work closely with finance department to develop budgeting and forecasting models.
  • Monitor and report on key purchasing metrics such as cost savings and supplier performance.
  • Source and qualify potential new suppliers to enhance supply chain capabilities.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to streamline purchasing processes and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast requirements and optimize inventory levels.
  • Manage procurement databases and maintain accurate records for audit and analysis purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement-related role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in using purchasing and inventory software.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills with suppliers and teams.
  • Thorough understanding of supply chain management and logistics operations.
  • Ability to multitask and handle complex negotiations under tight deadlines.
