Plumber

Plumbers are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining water supply, drainage, and heating systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They read blueprints, perform inspections, and use various tools and equipment to carry out plumbing tasks. Plumbers ensure the proper functioning of plumbing systems, troubleshoot issues, and replace or repair faulty components. They may collaborate with other tradespeople and interact with clients to provide plumbing solutions and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and heating systems.
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify problems or potential issues.
• Assemble, install, and connect pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and other defects.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Replace or repair faulty components, such as pipes, faucets, or water heaters.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians or HVAC technicians, as needed.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
• Communicate and interact with clients to understand their plumbing needs and provide recommendations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program.
• State license or certification as a plumber.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
