Job Description

A Medical Representative plays a vital role in the pharmaceutical industry by promoting medications and healthcare products to healthcare professionals and institutions. They serve as the bridge between pharmaceutical companies and medical practitioners, ensuring that healthcare professionals are well-informed about the latest products, their benefits, and usage modalities. The role demands strong communication skills, a deep understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients. Medical Representatives are also responsible for identifying and engaging with key opinion leaders and decision-makers in the healthcare industry to achieve sales targets and contribute to the company's growth. They must stay informed about competitors' products and strategies to maintain their company's competitive edge.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Present and provide information about the latest medical products and services.
  • Conduct regular visits to healthcare facilities to promote pharmaceutical products.
  • Identify and capitalize on business opportunities within the healthcare market.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the company regarding market trends and competition.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain knowledge of new products and medical advancements.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to organize promotional events and campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on the success of an assigned territory or region's sales targets.
  • Work in accordance with compliance regulations and ethical guidelines of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Accurately record and report sales and customer data to management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and quickly resolve client queries and issues.
  • Train and educate healthcare providers on the proper use and benefits of products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Representative or in another sales role.
  • Strong understanding of the medical and pharmaceutical industry practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and MS Office Suite for reporting and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets consistently.
