Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operations of a facility's maintenance department. This position involves organizing, scheduling, and overseeing routine maintenance activities, as well as handling urgent repair needs. A successful Maintenance Coordinator is detail-oriented and possesses strong organizational and communication skills, enabling them to effectively coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors, and other departments. They are responsible for maintaining records of all maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing situations within a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate routine maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and order new stock as necessary.
  • Track and document all maintenance activities and update the maintenance log.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all maintenance operations.
  • Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repair and maintenance services.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and provide guidance and training as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify any issues.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities and department performance for management.
  • Facilitate communication between maintenance staff and other departments to assess needs.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring maintenance-related expenditures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance coordination or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to facility maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
