Job Description

The Assistant Manager – Sales (FMCG – Bakery) plays a crucial role in driving the sales and growth objectives of our bakery products within the fast-moving consumer goods sector. You will be responsible for managing and expanding our bakery range within the designated territory, working closely with distributors, retailers, and internal teams to ensure our bakery products are available, visible, and top-of-mind to the target consumers. This role requires strong leadership skills, a knack for market analysis, and the ability to foster and maintain client relationships. As the Assistant Manager, you will report to the Sales Manager and collaborate with other cross-functional teams to meet business and sales targets. Exceptional negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the FMCG market, especially in bakery products, are essential in this highly competitive environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance promotional strategies and increase brand visibility.
  • Manage and expand the distribution network to ensure maximum product reach.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and consumer demands in the bakery sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers and distributors.
  • Analyze sales data to assess performance and make necessary adjustments to strategies.
  • Provide training and support to the sales team to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with key clients to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor competitors’ activities and products to remain competitive in the market.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints efficiently to maintain customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage large accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and assess market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team.
  • Knowledge of the bakery products market is highly desirable.
