Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain anesthesia equipment and monitors according to protocols.
• Assist anesthesiologists in the preparation and application of anesthetic techniques.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and collaborate with the medical team during procedures.
• Ensure sterilization and cleanliness of all anesthesia instruments and equipment.
• Keep accurate records of anesthesia equipment maintenance and medications used.
• Inventory and order anesthesia supplies, ensuring all necessary items are well-stocked.
• Provide immediate troubleshooting for anesthesia equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation.
• Communicate effectively with surgical team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Assist in patient positioning and transport before and after anesthesia procedures.
• Prepare patients for anesthesia by explaining procedures and reassuring them.
• Participate in the development of improved safety protocols and equipment usage practices.
• Educate and train new staff on anesthesia equipment and procedural protocols.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Anesthesia Technology or a related healthcare field preferred.
• Certification as an Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) is highly recommended.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current and maintained.
• Proven experience in a similar role within a hospital or surgical setting.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, safety protocols, and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the surgical team.
• Ability to function in a high-pressure environment with attention to detail.
