Job Description

The Production Planner is a vital role in any manufacturing setting, responsible for the effective planning and coordination of production activities to ensure optimized production performance. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure to meet production targets and deadlines. A Production Planner will liaise with various departments, including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure materials and components are available and production schedules are met. The ultimate goal is to balance demand and production capacity to optimize workflow efficiency and productivity. Understanding manufacturing processes and having excellent communication skills is essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Analyze production metrics and adjust schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to resolve any production issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels to determine material usage and replenish stock as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to ensure material delivery schedules.
  • Utilize planning software and tools to streamline production planning processes.
  • Prepare regular reports on production status, performance metrics, and compliance with schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes.
  • Forecast production needs based on customer orders and historical sales data.
  • Ensure all production activities adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend solutions for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Proven 3 to 5 years' experience production planning or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex production planning issues.
  • Proficient in using planning software such as Oracle.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Outstanding communication skills to liaise effectively with different departmental teams.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to manufacturing processes.
