As an X-Ray Technician, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare industry, focusing on creating diagnostic images that assist physicians in making accurate diagnoses. Working closely with nurses, doctors, and radiologists, you will employ your skills in operating sophisticated X-ray equipment to capture high-quality images of bones and tissues. Your responsibilities will include ensuring patient safety, preparing and positioning patients for procedures, and maintaining detailed patient records. With a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to best safety practices, you'll stay updated with technological advancements. Your role will also demand a strong emphasis on patient care, comforting them during procedures, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. 


Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients by explaining procedures and ensuring they are comfortable.
  • Operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of various parts of the body.
  • Position patients precisely to capture the necessary diagnostic images.
  • Review and evaluate developed X-rays to determine their quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records including imaging reports and procedure notes.
  • Collaborate with physicians to interpret and evaluate radiographical images.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot X-ray equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians with advanced imaging techniques when required.
  • Ensure clear communication of findings with other healthcare professionals.
  • Update skills regularly in line with technological advances in radiography.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments and manage workflow efficiently.


Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is mandatory.
  • Valid license to practice as an X-Ray Technician.
  • Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and producing high-quality images.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with patients and colleagues.
  • Capacity to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety standards and patient confidentiality policies.
