About Us

Medical Aid Films is a UK charity using the power of film to improve health and wellbeing for women and children in some of the world’s most underserved communities. Our work spans maternal health, adolescent wellbeing, refugee health and more, creating accessible media that saves lives.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled volunteer Events Planner to help us design, coordinate, and execute a single key fundraising event as part of our 2025 September Campaign.

This is a brilliant short-term opportunity for someone with prior event planning experience who wants to contribute their time and expertise to a small, mission-driven charity creating global impact through media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the MAF team to shape the event concept and goals
  • Source and liaise with venues, suppliers, and collaborators
  • Manage the event timeline, logistics, and task list
  • Support with guest list, invites, and RSVP coordination
  • Oversee on-the-day operations (if in person) or digital logistics (if virtual or hybrid)
  • Assist in coordinating post-event comms and supporter follow-up

Ideal Profile

  • Previous experience in event planning, either in a professional or voluntary capacity
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented
  • Confident working independently and collaborating remotely
  • Bonus: Experience with charity or fundraising events

Commitment

  • 1–2 days/week from August to the end of September
  • Remote, with optional in-person event attendance (London-based ideal)
