Job Description

A Technical Writer is a key member of any organization, responsible for creating clear and concise documentation that is critical for internal and external use. They work closely with product developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and transform complex technical concepts into consumer-friendly content. The role requires a deep understanding of the technology within a company, the ability to synthesize that information, and the knack for communicating in a way that is accessible to non-technical audiences. As a Technical Writer, you'll document product features, user guides, FAQs, training materials, and more, ensuring that users have a smooth experience with company products or services.


Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards and user requirements.
  • Work closely with product developers to identify and understand core concepts.
  • Write technical documentation such as user manuals, system operations, and FAQs.
  • Regularly update documentation to reflect new features and process changes.
  • Research and gather information from a variety of sources to produce high-quality content.
  • Edit and proofread technical content to ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity.
  • Maintain a cohesive visual design in technical documents when needed.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to validate technical information.
  • Test and provide feedback on product usability related to instructional content.
  • Create easy-to-understand tutorials for end users to help them navigate products.
  • Manage the documentation cycle, from initial draft to final publication on various platforms.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams for consistent and unified documentation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a Technical Writer role in similar industries.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, or RoboHelp.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate these into simple content.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical teams and end users effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
