Job Description

As a Social Media Content Moderator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our platform's community. Your keen eye for detail and passion for social media will help ensure that user-generated content adheres to our guidelines and community standards. You will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring content, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring a positive user experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive material, and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure. Working closely with other team members, you will contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all our users.


Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor user-generated content to ensure compliance with community guidelines.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks or violations to the appropriate teams promptly.
  • Evaluate flagged content to determine acceptability based on established criteria.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry and legal standards for content moderation.
  • Communicate clearly with users to explain moderation decisions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the content moderation team to improve processes and policies.
  • Provide regular feedback to improve automated moderation tools and systems.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay informed about new policies and tools.
  • Document moderation actions and maintain records in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist in developing strategies to enhance community engagement and user experience.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations involving harmful content.
  • Contribute to weekly team meetings to discuss trends and share best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in content moderation or a related field is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and sometimes distressing content is necessary.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities are required for rapid assessment.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accountability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment under pressure.
  • Capable of keeping up with fast-paced, dynamic changes in platform policies.
