Job Description

As a Service Advisor in the automotive industry, your primary role is to serve as the vital link between our valued customers and our skilled service technicians. You will be the face of the service department, offering your expert guidance and advice to customers on how best to maintain and repair their vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and satisfying customer experience by integrating effective communication, strong organizational skills, and automotive expertise. Your ability to understand customer needs, recommend appropriate services, and manage service appointments will be instrumental in building long-term customer relationships and driving our business success. As a Service Advisor, you'll need to remain current with the latest automotive technologies and continually hone your customer service skills.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Listen to customer needs and clearly explain automotive problems and solutions.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and obtain customer authorization for services.
  • Coordinate vehicle service appointments and ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain and update records of all automotive services and repairs.
  • Communicate regularly with service technicians regarding progress and any changes.
  • Inform customers of additional services and promotional offers available.
  • Handle customer complaints efficiently and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed service reports and ensure all paperwork is completed properly.
  • Educate customers on vehicle maintenance schedules and repair options.
  • Upsell additional services to enhance the automotive care package.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, policies, and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advancement with automotive training preferred.
  • Previous experience in a service advisor or similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software related to service management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
