Job Description

A Service Advisor is essential in the automotive service industry, acting as a liaison between customers and the service team. This professional plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by accurately identifying maintenance needs and translating them into actionable work orders for technicians. The Service Advisor must have extensive knowledge of different automotive systems and services to effectively communicate required repairs or maintenance to the customer. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients are vital to providing an exceptional level of service. Their ultimate goal is to ensure each customer’s vehicle is safe and reliable, while also enhancing the customer's experience through excellent service management.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assess their auto service needs and preferences.
  • Provide detailed explanations on service options, processes, and costs.
  • Create comprehensive and accurate work orders for technician guidance.
  • Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely service completions.
  • Inform customers about their vehicle diagnostics and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers about service status updates.
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of automotive systems and service offerings.
  • Oversee the quality and efficiency of the service delivery process.
  • Manage customer complaints and resolve service-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and industry-related standards.
  • Facilitate post-service follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Promote additional services and benefits to maximize customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
  • Previous experience in automotive services or customer service roles.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive technology and maintenance services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency with automotive service software and general office applications.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and handle pressure gracefully.
