Job Description

A Senior Test Equipment Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced test equipment systems for product testing and validation processes. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, as well as experience in creating innovative solutions to complex testing challenges. The Senior Test Equipment Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure the highest product standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and equipment capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom test equipment to meet detailed specifications.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to understand testing requirements fully.
  • Lead complex projects from the initial concept through to implementation and support.
  • Create detailed technical documentation for test equipment and related processes.
  • Ensure test equipment calibration and maintenance schedules are effectively managed.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test equipment performance issues and implement solutions.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials for test equipment.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to enhance product reliability and quality.
  • Provide expertise and support during testing phases to resolve any equipment failures.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of growth and development.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve testing efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in test equipment technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Five plus years of experience in designing and developing test equipment systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Proven track record of leading projects and mentoring junior engineering staff.
  • Solid understanding of calibration standards and equipment maintenance practices.
