Minimalist.ae is a local brand founded in 2016 in Dubai that designs and manufactures elegant, high-quality watches, jewelry, handbags, perfumes, and leather goods designed to enhance personal style. With two stores now open in the UAE, we focus on simple yet sophisticated designs, with specifically our Arabic numeral watches being known for their timeless appeal. Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure compliance.
• Manage and oversee month-end and year-end closing activities.

2. Financial Analysis & Reporting:

• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
• Prepare financial reports and providing strategic recommendations.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyse budget variances and provide actionable insights for improvement.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Preparing VAT returns and planning for UAE corporate tax.

5. Auditing & Financial Control:

• Assist with external audits and ensure adherence to audit standards.
• Conduct internal audits to strengthen financial transparency.

6. Insolvency & Risk Assessment:

• Monitoring financial risks and liquidity to ensure stability.
• Advise on financial restructuring and business continuity planning.

7. Accounting Systems & Record-Keeping:

• Overseeing Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation.
• Ensure data integrity, compliance, and process automation.
• Advising on regulatory record-keeping requirements.

8. Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

• Mentoring accountants and ensuring accurate, timely financial operations.
• Identifying process improvements and optimizing reporting efficiency

Requirements:

• At least 5, ideally 7+ years of experience in financial management and accounting in an eCommerce business or digital startup.
• 2+ years of experience with UAE VAT regulations.
• 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, NetSuite.
• A Bachelor’s and/or Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or general Business Administration.
• At least 1 accounting certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.), ideally also with certification & experience in IFRS.
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written) in English.
