Job Description

The Safety Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that safety regulations and standards are met within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and programs to safeguard employees and the environment. The Safety Compliance Officer will monitor workplace practices, conduct risk assessments, and provide guidance on compliance with safety legislation. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential hazards, recommending improvements, and ensuring that all safety measures are up to date and adhere to legal frameworks.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies across the organization to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the industry.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees at all organizational levels.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with management to develop emergency response protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with safety legislation and internal safety policies regularly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
  • Prepare and submit required safety compliance documentation to regulatory bodies.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and participate in occupational health initiatives.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of safety equipment and systems.
  • Develop strategies to improve overall safety awareness and reduce workplace injuries.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a safety compliance or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse employee groups.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Certification in safety management or similar accreditation preferred.
