Job Description

As an Automotive Service Advisor and Estimator, your pivotal role bridges the gap between customers and the service department by providing impeccable customer service and expert estimation of vehicle servicing and repairs. You are entrusted with the responsibility of accurately assessing vehicle issues and preparing estimates, ensuring transparency and trust with our valued clients. This position demands a strong mechanical understanding, exceptional communication skills, and a dedicated approach to customer satisfaction. You will liaise with technicians and management to streamline service processes and enhance customer experiences. In essence, your role is critical in promoting service excellence and fostering long-term customer relationships while driving the efficiency and profitability of the automotive service department.


Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed estimates for automotive repairs based on thorough assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about vehicle status and repair needs.
  • Coordinate service schedules to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
  • Ensure all service documentation accurately reflects the work performed.
  • Advise customers on necessary or optional repairs and maintenance services.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer service inquiries and feedback.
  • Collaborate with technicians to facilitate diagnosis and repairs of vehicle issues.
  • Keep abreast of automotive service industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems and repairs.
  • Handle insurance claims and negotiate with insurers when necessary.
  • Upsell additional services and products that benefit the customer’s vehicle.
  • Ensure that all customer interactions reflect professionalism and courtesy.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; additional education preferred.
  • Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or estimator.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive technology and vehicle repair processes.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities are necessary.
  • Proficient in automotive service management software or related applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail needed.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Relevant certifications from recognized automotive service organizations.
  • Adept at multitasking and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Capability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and some weekends as required.
