Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will play a pivotal role in providing critical care to premature and critically ill newborns. Your expertise will contribute to the well-being of vulnerable infants who require specialized medical attention and constant monitoring. In this demanding environment, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care and support to newborns and their families. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the vital signs and condition of neonatal patients regularly.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the neonatal medical team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals in patient care.
  • Implement and adjust individualized care plans based on the patient's unique needs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and progress.
  • Provide emotional support and education to families dealing with the NICU experience.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for neonatal care.
  • Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment used in the NICU environment.
  • Ensure the neonatal unit is clean, organized, and complies with safety regulations.
  • Participate in continuous education and training programs to enhance clinical skills.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and perform necessary resuscitative measures.
  • Lead or participate in team meetings and provide input on patient care strategies.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a critical care setting.
  • Previous experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is highly preferred.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress and dynamic medical environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple patients' needs.
