A Radiology Technician, also known as a radiologic technologist, plays a vital role in the healthcare field by utilizing imaging techniques to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Radiology Technicians operate equipment like X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI devices to capture images of patients’ bodies, which are crucial for physicians and radiologists in analyzing various medical conditions. Responsibilities

  • Apply radiation safety regulations and protect patients from unnecessary exposure to radiation.

  • Evaluate and interpret imaging results to provide primary assessments for physicians.
  • Maintain patient records by documenting imaging procedures and updating databases as required.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals for effective patient care management.
  • Educate patients and respond to their inquiries regarding radiology services and procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest radiographic technologies and advancements to improve service quality.
  • Assist in the management of departmental operations, including scheduling and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies for quality assurance in radiology.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program is required.
  • Valid license.
  • Minimum of 1-year hands-on experience in radiography or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic equipment and anatomical positioning techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards in imaging procedures.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy equipment as needed.
