As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by providing them with the necessary medications and pharmaceutical guidance. You will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications to patients and offering expertise in the safe use of prescriptions. Additionally, you will advise physicians and patients on the selection, dosages, interactions, and side effects of medications. You will also collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor and improve the therapeutic outcomes of patients and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions from healthcare professionals.
• Review and interpret physician orders to detect therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Provide information and advice on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
• Stay up-to-date with pharmaceuticals, pharmacy laws, and clinical services available.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Manage pharmacy inventory including the ordering, stocking, and monitoring of prescription and OTC supplies.
• Counsel patients on the use of prescription and non-prescription medications.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to discuss drug therapies specific to patient needs.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with health regulation standards.
• Supervise and manage the activities of pharmacy technicians and other personnel.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and quality of pharmacy services.
• Assist in the process of patient insurance billing and paperwork for prescription medications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree required.
• Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Strong understanding of pharmacology, drug nomenclature, and pharmacy ethics.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient and healthcare provider interactions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing prescriptions and maintaining records.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
