Cashier

As a cashier, you will be at the forefront of the customer service experience, ensuring that each customer has a pleasant and efficient transaction. You will be responsible for handling cash and electronic transactions, answering customer inquiries, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your workspace. A key part of your role is to project a friendly and professional demeanor, as you will often be the first and sometimes the only interaction a customer has with our company. Your aim is to provide outstanding service and ensure that customers leave with a positive impression of our store. You will also be expected to manage any discrepancies in the cash register, report issues to management, and assist with inventory checks when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer queries promptly.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently and responsibly.
• Ensure cash drawer amounts are accurate at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Assist take-away customers by providing information and resolving their questions.
• Maintain clean and organized counters.
• Inform customers about new products and store promotions.
• Report discrepancies or issues to the management immediately.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and established safety regulations.
• Assist in restocking shelves, cleaning tasks, and inventory checks when needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals and objectives.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while representing the store.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to handle transactions accurately even in busy environments.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude toward customers and teammates.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
