Job Description

As a Nurse Manager specializing in Maternal Newborn and Labour, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care for mothers and newborns in a supportive and compassionate environment. This dynamic position requires a balance of advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional leadership, and administrative acumen to manage a busy and critical unit within the healthcare facility. You will be tasked with leading a dedicated team of nurses and allied health professionals, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence in maternal and neonatal care. The role demands innovative thinking and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care as you work collaboratively with healthcare teams to enhance the quality of service delivery. You will also drive initiatives to improve patient outcomes, optimize resource utilization, and promote continuous professional development for the nursing team.


Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision by directing daily unit operations effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving patient care quality significantly.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies consistently.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated, patient-centered care delivery.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage personnel issues constructively.
  • Oversee scheduling and ensure optimal staff coverage for all shifts.
  • Manage the unit's budget and resources efficiently to meet financial targets.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Facilitate effective communication among team members and with external stakeholders.
  • Support and participate in patient and family education programs proactively.
  • Implement infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for all patients.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a current RN license required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in maternal newborn and labor care.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal health and newborn care best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is highly preferred.
