Job Description

As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in the medical imaging team by operating MRI scanners to capture detailed internal images of a patient’s body. Your expertise will be fundamental in helping to diagnose, monitor, or treat medical conditions. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency in using sophisticated MRI equipment and a compassionate approach to patient care. You will work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality imaging results that can significantly impact patient outcomes. Additionally, maintaining safety and maintenance standards for the MRI equipment is crucial. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients correctly for MRI procedures ensuring patient safety.
  • Operate MRI machines to capture accurate images as per the radiologist's specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and answer questions.
  • Monitor patient conditions during the scan and provide immediate assistance if needed.
  • Review and evaluate images to ensure they meet standards for diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of MRI equipment and report any issues.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists to interpret and analyze imaging results.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of all patient records and images obtained.
  • Stay updated with advancements in MRI technology and techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines during all aspects of scanning procedures.
  • Assist in training new MRI technologists by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments efficiently to optimize workflow and resources.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a medical imaging environment.
  • Proficient in the use of MRI scanning equipment and image processing software.
  • Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI safety protocols.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills under varying clinical circumstances.
  • Ability to perform tasks with precision and attention to detail during high-pressure situations.
