Job Description

The MEP Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the construction industry, managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of building projects. This professional ensures that MEP designs align with the project's overall plan, timely execution, and within budget constraints. The coordinator acts as a bridge between architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, facilitating effective communication and coordination to meet project milestones and standards. They are responsible for scheduling MEP systems installations, conducting field inspections, and troubleshooting problems to maintain project quality. With a keen eye for detail, the MEP Coordinator ensures compliance with local codes and safety standards, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee MEP installations to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to review MEP designs and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national MEP codes and regulations.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to ensure quality and compliance of MEP work.
  • Resolve technical issues related to MEP systems within construction projects.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for all MEP activities and milestones.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including architects, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Develop and manage the MEP project schedule to avoid delays and overruns.
  • Evaluate and approve MEP design changes in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensure MEP components are installed according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with MEP subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project management team regarding MEP matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP coordination or related field.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with diverse teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems related to MEP installations.
