Job Description

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Coordinator plays a critical role in the construction and project management industries. This position involves overseeing the planning, design, coordination, and execution of MEP systems within building projects. An MEP Coordinator ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are integrated effectively and efficiently to meet the project's specifications, budget constraints, and deadline requirements. The MEP Coordinator serves as the communication link between the project manager, construction team, and various subcontractors to streamline operations and ensure that MEP installations comply with all project requirements and regulations. This role demands a detail-oriented and strategic thinker capable of managing multiple tasks and teams simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate MEP designs and installations while ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Liaise between contractors, subcontractors, and the construction team to maintain project timelines.
  • Offer technical assistance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements of the projects.
  • Oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes related to MEP works.
  • Attend site meetings and provide updates on MEP system progress and challenges.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with codes.
  • Resolve conflicts and discrepancies that occur among MEP trades and other construction areas.
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure systems are installed according to design and standard.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed monthly reports on project progress and MEP statuses.
  • Manage project costs effectively to ensure work is executed efficiently and within budget.
  • Ensure all MEP project milestones are met and report any deviations immediately.
  • Lead the commissioning and handover process for MEP installations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field relevant to MEP systems.
  • At least five years of experience in MEP coordination within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and construction processes related to MEP works.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with diverse project teams.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software and tools for project management and design.
  • Familiarity with current regulations, standards, and best practices for MEP systems.
