Job Description

A Media Buyer is a crucial role in the advertising and marketing industry, responsible for acquiring advertising space across various media platforms to effectively reach target audiences. This professional combines analytical skills with strategic thinking to negotiate competitive rates and optimal placement for advertising campaigns. They work closely with other team members such as account managers and creative teams to ensure that the media strategies align with the client’s objectives and budget requirements. Typically, a media buyer will analyze data on readership, viewership, and engagement to determine the most efficient media placements. By utilizing their deep understanding of the media landscape, they maximize the impact of ads while ensuring optimal spend efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with creative teams to ensure media is used as intended creatively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Media Buyer or in a similar role within the industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data efficiently.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience in media rate agreements.
  • Great understanding of media consumption trends and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in media buying software and analytics tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills are essential.
