The Operations Leader for High-Speed Balancing and Testing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of balancing, testing and maintenance operations within the facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of high-speed balancing, vibration analysis, and performance testing of Generator rotors, while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing a team of winding & testing technicians, coordinating with other functions, and implementing strategies to optimize generator operation. The High-Speed Balancing Operations Leader will have technical knowledge and experience working with GE / Alstom / O’OEM large Generators. They will be responsible and fully involved for the balancing, repairs, maintenance and daily operations of the Generator cell.
Job Description
What youll do;
This position is responsible for providing leading and technical support to the Generator business segment within the Jebel Ali Service Center to drive safety, quality, delivery and cost results in the repair and service of power generation equipment.
Position responsibilities include providing accurate and detailed job planning, process instructions and procedures and technical oversight of work in process. Interfacing with working leaders & winder/Technician craftsman as necessary to ensure quality and timely execution of work.
The position is responsible for tracking job details, inspection data, technical results and preparing intermediate and final report documentation. Responsible for interfacing with Engineering, Product Services, sourcing, logistics and internal & external customer personnel as needed to ensure quality results and to achieve superior customer service.
Ensure all balancing and testing procedures comply with standards, specifications, and internal requirements and provide technical explanations, reports, and recommendations based on test results.
Responsible to maintain optimal cost productivity through effective Lean and Six Sigma process improvements.
Responsible to drive all EHS programs, mandatory routine inspection, and review of EHS documents.
Responsible to ensure that equipment and tools are in good condition for use. Ensure instrumentation, and control systems are properly maintained and calibrated.
Propose plans for preventive maintenance and corrective action.
Responsible to handle and maintain contractor cost as per operation plan for the cell.
Lead, train, mentor and develop a team of technicians on balancing, vibration analysis, and testing methodologies.
Assign tasks and ensure the team adhere to safety and performance standards.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications);
Bachelors Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university Engineering or relevant background
Significant experience of working with generator rotor high speed balancing (above 20MW), and dynamic electrical testing & Thermal Stability testing.
Experienced with the use of Quasar, SCADA system and strong experience with vibration analysis in the High-Speed Balancing and testing facility.
Familiarity with test facility operations, instrumentation, and safety systems.
