Job Description

A Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in the successful management of a company’s supply chain. They are responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing inventory, and ensuring that products are delivered promptly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of resources from the point of origin to the consumption site, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction and efficiency in service delivery. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the logistics operations for timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and optimize the flow of products from suppliers to end-users.
  • Develop logistics plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers for seamless supply chain operations.
  • Track shipments, manage inventory levels, and generate reports on logistics performance.
  • Negotiate transportation and logistics contracts with service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in logistics operations.
  • Resolve issues with transportation, delivery, customs, and other logistics challenges.
  • Implement and maintain logistics management software systems for operations.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to manage budgets related to logistics.
  • Evaluate and select transportation services such as carriers, routes, and vendors.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders involved in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools for tracking shipments and inventory.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating and improving logistics operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address complex logistics challenges efficiently.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to logistics and supply chain.
