LOCATION HEAD ADVISORY MIDDLE EAST

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The role requires leading a team / teams of highly qualified investment specialists including Investment Advisors (IAs), Mandate Advisors (MAs) and Fund Advisors (FAs) across multiple locations, in addition to managing your own client portfolios. You will act as IWMS’ ambassador inside and outside the Bank and as a primary contact for RMs and Senior Management. You will be supporting Relationship Managers (RMs) in prospecting new clients, managing existing client portfolios, and ensuring retention by providing holistic investment and portfolio advice across all asset classes. Furthermore, you will also be participating in prospect and client meetings, guiding RMs through the bank’s investment strategy and product offering. Finally, you will act as the JBME spokesperson for investment matters, including clients Markets Outlook, Press & TV events.


YOUR CHALLENGE

Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to achieve team’s KPIs, both qualitatively and quantitatively
  • Ensure that all team members are up to date on the relevant internal processes / policies and supervises adherence. Ensures that mandatory trainings are followed by all employees
  • Support the on-going development of the team and initiates the development planning for their skills, training, and career


Client Advisory & Relationship Management:

  • Provides expert investment advice across all asset classes to own clients including unbiased and holistic solutions, cross-selling activities (Advisory and Discretionary Mandates, Funds, Structured Products, Credit, Global Custody, Wealth & Tax Planning etc.). including conducting portfolio proposals / reviews, creating sophisticated, tailor-made proposals and presenting the results to clients / prospects, by always considering client suitability, risk appetite, life-cycle-related needs and investment objectives
  • Work with and guide team members to improve quality of advisory including clients’ performances and embracing holistic solutions of the bank
  • Partner with RMs and various internal stakeholders in the book transformation of the team, by improving profitability and increasing the share-of-wallet
  • Collaborate, build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, RMs and various other internal stakeholders.


Business Development & Growth:

  • Team up with RMs to identify new business opportunities, acquire and expand client base in the region.
  • Drive AUM growth by acquiring new clients and representing the team to deepen existing relationships.
  • Collaborate with various specialist team to promote investment solutions of the bank.


Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance policies (both for self and the team)
  • Ensure the team’s completion status of the mandatory trainings and ensure completion of all mandatory trainings and required certifications (global and local training requirements)
  • Practice vigilance to minimize operational errors


YOUR PROFILE

  • Extensive (10+ years) professional experience in banking and finance, preferably in Investment Advisory, Discretionary Portfolio Management or Asset Management
  • ​Excellent management and leadership skills (motivation to lead people)
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders in a highly articulate and professional manner
  • Strategic skills and managerial courage to make and deliver unpopular and difficult decisions and messages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, empathic personality, charisma, power of persuasion
  • Drive for results
  • Ability to relate to clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong ability for planning, organising, and, communicating a clear vision
  • Good judgement and ability to work under pressure
  • University Degree or Apprenticeship/High School Diploma, preferably in Economics or Finance
  • Further education in financial markets (CFA, ESG etc.) is an asset
  • Genuine passion for financial markets with good knowledge in all asset classes and financial products (funds, structured products, etc.) in a portfolio context
  • Knowledge in all applicable regulatory requirements / regimes – (i.e. MiFID II, FIDLEG)
  • Languages
  • Mandatory: English (excellent written and oral skills) and if necessary additional language according to market coverage
  • Additional languages (including Arabic) would be an asset
  • Financial information tools (knowledge e.g. Reuters/Eikon, Bloomberg)
