Job Summary
Managing the Global Islamic Product function across the Financing and Transaction Banking products. The incumbent is responsible for product development, product management, training, documentation and system requirements for Financing and Transaction Banking Islamic products offered across the group.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Work with Head of Islamic CIB Products to achieve the Global Islamic Banking strategy, aligning to the Group’s strategy and the strategy of the relevant businesses and geographies.
Business
- Manage the development and launch of new products in close liaison with business and support functions such as Legal, CFCC, Operations, Risk and IT, etc.
- Responsible for Shariah structuring and approval of the proposed products.
- Relationship building with front and support departments to get a complete understanding of the systems related to product development.
- Participate in activities related to product management with the help of relevant counterparts across various geographic regions.
- Draft product process and procedures and understand the system and processes for a product to ensure that a product launch is smooth and successful.
- Coordination with Shariah on product development and general matters relating to business.
- Maintain Market intelligence on different markets where Islamic products are offered.
- Key participant for global application to ensure successful product sales and delivery of Islamic Products.
- Team player with ability to take initiative and demonstrate assertiveness.
- Extensive awareness of and familiarity with the target market markets for Shariah-compliance products.
- Ability to deal with all levels of people in the project development and launch phase and deliver multiple tasks involved in multiple product development projects.
- Demonstrate good networking skills as he/she will need to develop strong relationships with the relevant product areas and reporting lines within the bank and where appropriate with the target client base.
- Good knowledge of banking processes, IT, and policies to ensure a viable product launch.
- High level awareness of and familiarity with the target market for Shariah-compliant products.

- Ensure appropriate development of Islamic processes as per the group guidelines
- Direct participation in standardization exercise of DOI’s and legal documentation across Saadiq markets

- Lead through example and should try to build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- To be the part of the team providing the ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks

Qualifications
Requirements
- Experience in banking and finance across Corporate & Institutional Banking Product areas such as Transaction Banking, Corporate Lending and Financial Markets.
- In-depth Shariah knowledge is the most important pre-requisite for the job. Experience of working with Shariah scholars of a variety of backgrounds and schools of Islamic jurisprudence is a must.
- In addition, the incumbent must be detail oriented and well organized in his/her thoughts and practices.
