Landscaping Estimator (225-611)

A Landscaping Estimator plays a crucial role in the construction and landscaping industries. This position requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to evaluate and propose accurate estimates for landscape projects. The Landscaping Estimator will work closely with clients, project managers, and landscape architects to ensure that projects are planned and executed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role involves assessing the labor, materials, and duration required to complete various landscaping projects, from small residential gardens to large commercial complexes. By maintaining a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality, the Landscaping Estimator helps companies secure contracts and satisfy client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to prepare comprehensive estimations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to discuss project specifications and modifications.
• Develop detailed cost estimates using estimation software and databases for accuracy.
• Prepare and present proposals and bids to potential clients with confidence and clarity.
• Maintain a detailed record of project costs from initial estimate through to final accounts.
• Evaluate the feasibility and profitability of projects through detailed cost analysis.
• Conduct site visits to gather essential information needed for accurate project estimation.
• Monitor market trends and adjust estimates to reflect changes in labor and material costs.
• Build and sustain relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Work closely with the procurement team to ensure alignment of estimated and actual costs.
• Update management and clients with progress reports and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards when formulating cost proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in landscape estimating or a similar field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant estimation tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients and vendors.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of landscaping materials, market labor rates, and industry best practices.
