Job Description

As a Land Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the physical layout of projects ranging from roads and buildings to bridges and land parcels. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure projects are constructed precisely as designed. Your role involves using advanced surveying equipment and software to measure and map job sites while ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations. This position demands attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or collaborate with a team. Your work is foundational to successful construction and development and involves significant responsibility regarding resource planning and compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements and calculations to determine property boundaries accurately.
  • Research legal records, survey records, and land titles to clarify boundaries.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maps showcasing survey findings and results.
  • Conduct site visits to assess physical characteristics, establish reference points, and gather field data.
  • Utilize and maintain a variety of advanced surveying equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure all survey work supports project goals.
  • Supervise and guide junior surveyors and technicians in conducting surveys.
  • Ensure all survey operations comply with legal and safety standards.
  • Adjust and calibrate surveying instruments to maintain accuracy and precision.
  • Coordinate findings with engineers, architects, and clients for optimal project outcomes.
  • Analyze survey data and calculations for development of design plans and specifications.
  • Advise on legal and environmental matters concerning property and construction boundaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is highly desirable or required by specific regions.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software like AutoCAD and GIS technology.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills exemplified through previous survey projects.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrain types.
  • Excellent communication skills for accurate reporting and collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from conception through completion.
