Junior Highway Design Engineer

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Highway Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be engaged in design, production, submission and approvals of Major Road Schemes in Dubai, UAE and internationally.

What You'll Be Doing

• Applies basic engineering principles to analyses
• Independently reviews technical documents to develop understanding of engineering principles used in analyses
• Prepares analytical models with moderately advanced engineering software and researches how engineering principles are applied in the software with supervision
• Understands QA/QC standard practices and procedures
• Produces clear and well-organized design calculations
• Understands the basics in required software in developing the design
• Understands the basics in design automation using Dynamo and other related software.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum 3 years experience in highway design with thorough knowledge of Highway Design Software
• Understands how to read design plans for various typologies including expressways, highways, arterial roads, local road networks, and subdivisions and knows the difference within each typology
• Understands multi-level interchanges and at-grade junctions (signalized, roundabouts, priority junctions)
• Developing proficiency with standard detailing practices relating to horizontal alignments & vertical profiles.
• Defines the basic pavement design based on input from pavement specialist.
• Develops the design relating to on/off street parking and temporary traffic management (TTM) plans.
• Develops basic detailing sketches for design plans with supervision
• Able to select applicable standard specifications
• Working knowledge of AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD associated with highway design.

• Bentley Microstation skills are beneficials and desirable
