Jewellery Designer

The Jewellery Designer is responsible for creating original and appealing designs for fine or fashion jewellery pieces, from concept to final product. This position demands creativity, attention to detail, market awareness, and an understanding of production processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio and the ability to translate customer preferences into wearable art.

Responsibilities:

• Develop design concepts based on current trends and customer preferences.

• Create detailed sketches and 3D models using CAD software.

• Choose appropriate materials including metals, gemstones, and finishes.

• Collaborate with production teams to bring designs to life.

• Maintain knowledge of gemology and precious materials.

• Revise and update designs based on feedback and feasibility.

• Attend trade shows, fashion events, and market research for inspiration.

• Ensure designs meet quality, durability, and safety standards.

• Present design ideas to clients, buyers, or brand managers.

• Manage project timelines from conception to completion.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Jewellery Design, Fine Arts, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in jewellery design.

• Strong sketching and rendering skills.

• Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, or JewelCAD).

• Understanding of gem-setting, metalworking, and manufacturing processes.

• Creative flair with attention to detail and craftsmanship.

• Knowledge of current fashion and jewellery trends.

• Good communication and presentation abilities.

• Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
