Infection Control Manager (225-1009)

The Infection Control Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment within healthcare facilities. This position requires an advanced understanding of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and compliance with health regulations. The manager oversees the implementation and administration of infection control programs, ensuring that all health standards are met to protect both patients and healthcare workers. They work collaboratively with medical staff, departments, and external health agencies to develop effective strategies and protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The Infection Control Manager is also responsible for educating and training healthcare personnel on infection prevention practices, which is crucial for maintaining high safety standards in medical settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive infection control policies and programs for the facility.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify infection control challenges and areas for improvement.
• Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention best practices.
• Supervise and mentor the infection control team, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.

• Evaluate and select appropriate infection control products and technologies for the facility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field required.
• Minimum of five years experience in a healthcare setting with infection control duties.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent preferred or to be obtained.
• Strong understanding of epidemiology, infectious diseases, and infection prevention practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse healthcare teams.
• Proven ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on data analysis.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and standards.
