Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian/Chinese Chef to join our culinary team. Our establishment prides itself on providing an authentic dining experience, and we are looking for a chef who can create an array of mouth-watering dishes from both Indian and Chinese cuisines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a focus on Indian and Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles. The chef will work closely with the kitchen team to innovate menus, ensure high-quality preparation and presentations, and maintain exceptional food hygiene standards. Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare authentic Indian and Chinese dishes with traditional techniques.
  • Innovate new recipes and menus that highlight both Indian and Chinese flavors.
  • Manage kitchen operations including inventory, budgeting, and staff scheduling.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared with the utmost attention to detail and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with management to execute seasonal menu changes and specials.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Assist in sourcing high-quality ingredients from local and international vendors.
  • Conduct regular food tastings to ensure consistency and flavor accuracy.
  • Adapt recipes to accommodate guest dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Work under pressure during busy service times, maintaining efficiency and calm.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Indian and/or Chinese Chef in a reputable restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian and Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and quality control.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and commitment to uphold them.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff.
  • Proficiency in managing kitchen operations, budgeting, and inventory control.
