Import and Export Manager

As an Import and Export Manager, you will oversee the international movement of goods, ensuring compliance with all regulations and optimizing cost and efficiency throughout the process. You will work closely with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and customs officials to ensure smooth transactions and timely deliveries. Constantly managing and mitigating potential risks associated with international trade, you strive to enhance supply chain processes. Your role will also involve developing and implementing strategic plans to expand global reach and streamline operations. A strong understanding of the global market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex documentation are paramount in this role. You will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders and ensuring that import and export activities align with the company’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage overall import and export operations, ensuring legal compliance.
• Coordinate logistics and supply chain processes for international trade.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely deliveries.
• Prepare and manage documentation for customs and shipping procedures accurately.
• Negotiate price and terms with suppliers and service providers worldwide.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in global trade.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand global market reach.
• Monitor and leverage changes in trade regulations and compliance policies.
• Resolve issues related to shipping/transportation and communicate effectively.
• Analyze and improve supply chain performance, reducing cost and time.
• Ensure risk management by identifying and mitigating potential risks in trade.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support business goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in import/export roles, preferably in a managerial position.
• Deep knowledge of international trade laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in supply chain management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail capabilities.
• Experience in risk management and strategic planning initiatives.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
