With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Private Client team, with the addition of a Private Client Senior Associate.

The opportunity for you

Taylor Wessing is a leading international law firm known for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence in client service. Our Dubai office offers an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Lawyer to join our market leading Private Wealth team as a Senior Associate working closely with our team in London and Dubai. You will advise and work on a range of international private client matters. We provide comprehensive legal solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts across the globe.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a range of private client wealth structuring matters, including international estate planning, UK and international tax advice, cross-border estate and taxation planning for both domestic and international clients, tax residence and domicile rules, administration and taxation of trusts, the drafting and administration of wills and family governance.
  • Draft and review complex wills, trust deeds, foundation documentation and other relevant legal documents.
  • Provide counsel on international aspects of private client work, including cross-border tax and succession issues and offshore structures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different jurisdictions to deliver seamless multi-jurisdictional services.
  • Manage relationships with key private wealth intermediaries and high-net-worth clients by understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Develop strategies for asset protection and wealth management in line with current laws and regulations.
  • Some contentious trusts or contentious probate experience would be desirable.
  • Mentor junior associates by providing guidance on private client law procedures and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK with a current practicing certificate from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
  • Minimum of 5+ PQE specializing in private client law at a reputable firm.
  • Proven track record in advising on and executing high-value UK and international tax, succession and wealth structuring mandates, including advising on and managing complex trust scenarios.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and practical legal analysis and advice on intricate matters.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - capable of quickly establishing and building strong client and intermediary relationships.
  • Ideally CTA or ATT (or ADIT) qualified.
  • High level of discretion in managing confidential information.
  • Familiarity with international private client issues is essential.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads in close liaison with the other fee earners in the team.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, good time management, an energetic and proactive approach and confidence in ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
