Job Description

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can help identify potential hazards and implement safety measures to mitigate risks. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe work environment by evaluating processes, conducting audits, and providing training to employees. You will collaborate closely with management, engineers, and employees to develop policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HSE standards and a passion for creating a safe and sustainable workplace.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards.
  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in accordance with regulations.
  • Provide training sessions for employees about safety standards and practices.
  • Investigate any incidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.
  • Compile thorough reports on inspection findings, risks, and safety improvements.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure HSE policies are integrated into operations.
  • Track and analyze HSE performance metrics and report on them regularly.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and tools are properly maintained and available.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability and safety within the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with new HSE regulations and technology advances.
  • Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
  • Advise management on HSE compliance and potential risk areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role.
  • Thorough understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for conducting training and presentations.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar HSE qualifications preferred.
