An HIS (Health Information System) Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of health information systems within healthcare organizations. This role involves providing technical assistance and support to users, maintaining and troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance system functionality. The HIS Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the health information systems meet the needs of healthcare providers and administrators, thereby contributing to improved patient care and operational efficiency. Engaging directly with clinical and administrative staff, this position requires a deep understanding of healthcare information systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with users of varying levels of technical expertise. Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support for all HIS related inquiries and issues.

  • Collaborate with IT and clinical staff to streamline system functionalities.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on HIS usage and updates.
  • Document all support activities and maintain detailed records of system issues.
  • Participate in the deployment of new system updates, patches, and features.
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of new HIS software solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Facilitate communication between end-users, management, and technical teams.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in health IT solutions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience supporting health information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare IT standards and data security practices.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in training and providing technical guidance to non-technical users.
