Freelance Translator (225-903)

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Freelance Translator to join our dynamic team. As a Freelance Translator, you will be responsible for converting written material from one or more 'source languages' into the 'target language', ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible. You will work on a range of projects, from emails and social media content to technical documentation and marketing materials. This role requires a keen attention to detail, linguistic prowess, and the ability to work to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong cultural understanding of the languages involved, ensuring accurate and context-appropriate translations.

Responsibilities

• Translate a variety of documents including technical, legal, and general subject matter texts.
• Ensure translations are true to the source material while maintaining readability in the target language.
• Conduct research on specific terminology to supplement translation accuracy and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a translator with a portfolio of translated works.
• Fluency in at least two languages, with excellent command of grammar.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and translation memory software.
• Excellent communication skills and cultural knowledge of the source and target languages.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality translations.
